Lived Experience Research Toolkit
The Lived Experience Research Toolkit was developed through NIHR-funded research exploring the needs of women with severe mental illness in contact with the criminal justice system and was shared at a House of Lords policy engagement event.
Women in the criminal justice system often experience significant mental health challenges, trauma, and social disadvantage. This research, co-produced with women with lived experience, aimed to better understand these challenges and develop improved approaches to engagement and collaboration.
The toolkit has been designed to support practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to meaningfully and ethically incorporate lived experience into health and justice research and practice.
